Final-round voting for the 67th Grammy Awards is now underway, kicking off on Friday, October 4. This year, Grammy voters face an extensive list of entries across 89 categories, with several seeing record-breaking numbers.
In the coveted General Field, five out of six categories saw significant jumps in entries. Record of the Year received 780 submissions, up from last year’s 615, while Album of the Year surged from 476 to 707 entries. Song of the Year experienced the biggest leap, with 978 entries competing for one of the eight nomination spots. Additionally, Songwriter and Producer of the Year (non-classical) also saw slight increases. However, Best New Artist saw a decrease, with 323 entries—the smallest pool in five years.
The rise in entries underscores the fierce competition for these prestigious awards, particularly in the General Field categories. As often noted, with thousands vying for just a few nomination slots, even making the shortlist is an impressive feat.
While most categories are now determined by voter input, five still rely on committee selections, including Best Recording Package and Best Historical Album.
Voting runs until October 15, with nominations set to be revealed on November 8. Final voting will take place from December 12 to January 3, and winners will be announced at the 67th Grammy Awards on February 2 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
