From a vibrant blend of Middle Eastern influences to the thumping rhythms of American pop, it’s clear that Inas X is not your ordinary pop artist. A Palestinian American, Inas X, was born in a musically rich environment, her mind immersed in the melodies of plays, choirs, and bands. However, bound by her cultural background, Inas X was not permitted to fully commit to a music career until she broke free and came of age.
At 18, Inas made a bold assertion. She decisively declared, “This is what I’m doing, I’m doing music,” and with that, embarked on a musical journey, unfazed by the challenges that lay ahead. This journey led to her standing on the grand stage of The X Factor and even releasing soulful cover songs along with ingenious original creations.
It happened that, “Love is,” her first single, became a significant turning point. The song was not just acknowledged, but celebrated, hitting Billboard charts and skyrocketing her into the limelight. “It turns out to be the craziest thing of my life,” she recalled.
Afterwards, Inas X dispensed a series of successful singles including “Playing with Fire” and “Disposition,” both landing spots on the coveted iTunes charts. These achievements solidified her position in the music industry, and she was far from being done. Her latest release, “Nonstop,” embodies a unique fusion of her Palestinian heritage and her mark as a pop sensation.
Inas X’s musical palette has been shaped by a multitude of influences. From Arab pop icons like Nancy Ajram, referred to as the “Arabic Beyoncé”, to mainstream American stars like Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Madonna, Cher, and Kanye West. She carries an admiration for powerful women who carry themselves with supreme confidence. She aims to be to the Middle East what Aaliyah was to the American music scene with her unique R&B-inspired sound.
Despite cultural impediments, Inas X’s trailblazing journey marks her as a groundbreaking figure, pushing the boundaries of what is expected from a Palestinian woman in the music industry. “Being that and owning that is so powerful,” she asserts, a shining figure in the realm of pop culture. She’s shared stages with the likes of Post Malone, Fetty Wap, and Tokyo Jets, even gracing grand festivals in Los Angeles like Rolling Loud.
Simultaneously, Inas X is dedicated to expanding her brand, diving into acting with movie roles in the works, and even exploring the potential of creating a product line. With a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, Inas X has stepped into philanthropy, pouring passion into charity events, helping survivors, and weaving this aspect of her life into her artistry.
Her latest single, “Goddess”, dropped on March 22nd, underlines the essence of Inas X’s artistry. “Goddess,” as she defines it, is not only a lifestyle but a brand that celebrates the divine feminine and pays homage to the source of power possessed by women. An upcoming EP will further delve into and develop this concept.
As a Palestinian-American artist in a complex cultural landscape, Inas X is redefining narratives and breaking boundaries. With a clear vision and a voice that rings with passion and authenticity, we witness Inas X evolving into a “godly woman” and an inspiring figure to many. As she quoted, “While I loved music, I wasn’t allowed to do it fully until adulthood. So now it’s become everything. At 18 years old I thought to myself, ‘This is what I’m doing, I’m doing music’, and I hit the ground running.”
