Cindy Charles, the head of music at Twitch, tragically passed away at age 69 following a traffic accident in Amsterdam.
Charles was struck by a garbage truck near the Passeerdersgracht canal on Monday, October 14, according to local reports. Twitch’s CEO, Daniel Clancy, confirmed the heartbreaking news on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Cindy was involved in a tragic accident while traveling in the Netherlands. While many in the Twitch community may not have known her directly, she played a pivotal role in managing our music industry relationships.”
Charles had been in Amsterdam for the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), where she was scheduled to participate in a panel later that week. Her sudden passing has left a deep void in both her personal and professional circles.
Her husband, Ricky Fishman, expressed his grief on Facebook, writing, “There will be no filling the hole in the universe left by Cindy’s departure from this world.”
