Wendy Osefo Bullies Castmates in Latest Real Housewives of Potomac Season

Date:

Bravo’s hit series Real Housewives of Potomac is back in action and heating up television screens with new dramatic episodes. A fresh face has joined this season, Nigerian goddess Nneka Ihim. Nneka was introduced by friend Ashley Darby and joined the other housewives including Robyn Dixon, Mia ThorntonGizelle Bryant, Karen Huger, Robyn Dixon, Candiace Dillard, Gizelle Bryant, and Wendy Osefo.

Nneka Ihim – Season 8 Episode 3 on Real Housewives of Potomac

Nneka is first introduced at Ashley’s housewarming party in Season 8 Episode 3 of RHOP. During the party, Nneka seems to be welcomed with open arms by the Potomac Housewives.

Although a pleasant event, Ashley felt the need to bring information to Wendy about a lunch she had with Nneka where they discussed an article stating Wendy’s family is Osu. Ashley also mentions that when she brought up Wendy being a doctor that Nneka immediately asked Ashley to clarify what type of doctor and she said PhD. “Oh PhD Doctor of Psychology”. Nneka responds. However, the way that Ashley relays the information (she later blames it on the alcohol like the Jamie Foxx song “Blame It”) creates tension.  In a testimonial, Wendy says she had better be called “Doctor Wendy”.

Instead of getting to the bottom of what was really said and making an honest attempt to bond with her fellow Nigerian, Wendy decides not to get along with Nneka. Even after Ashley apologizes and says she told the information incorrectly, it goes over Wendy’s head and straight into the fire.

Wendy is currently the assistant professor at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University, Doctor of Education Program.

Wendy Osefo Speaking at John Hopkins University

Her role at John Hopkins includes guiding the next generation of scholars and her research sheds light on the barriers faced by marginalized student groups, analyzing race and socioeconomic status. Wendy seems to make every effort to advance the conversation on how best to support underserved students and communities within K-12 school districts and postsecondary institutions. Yet Wendy is on national television degrading her fellow counterparts like Mia with egregious name calling and failing to welcome and accept another Nigerian into the group.

Wendy shows extreme insensitivity and negligence. Back at the lunch table during Ashley’s homecoming party, she talks down to Mia calling her “slow” multiple times despite the fact that Mia actually has a child at home with a learning disability. There is even a flashback clip from the Season 7 reunion where Wendy is seen yelling and calling Mia “Dumbass Mia”.

Many children in the United States, like Mia’s son, have learning disabilities and it is utterly shocking that someone educated with a standup reputation like Dr. Wendy would do such things. Even North West recently let the public know that she is dyslexic. With so many children of color struggling with mental and learning capabilities, it is unfortunate that an educator would look down on her peers academically, intellectually, and emotionally in such a way.

Additionally, Wendy and her mother used to bleach their skin, and Wendy’s mother wears GREEN CONTACTS yet, she and her mother have major issues with the “green-eyed bandits” over their light skin privilege.
